South Africa has well in excess of one million members in over 2000 congregations.<\/p>\n<p>Constitutionally the A.O.G. is a fully integrated church. A General Conference is held every two years, where a non-racial General Executive is elected. A.O.G. South Africa is part of the world wide A.O.G. and yet is autonomous in South Africa. JESUS CHRIST <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Thus we uphold His complete <strong>deity<\/strong> as well as His complete <strong>humanity;<\/strong> two natures but one undivided Person. Fully human but fully God.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f37635;\">Luke 1:30-35 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><sup>30\u00a0<\/sup>But the angel said to her, \u201cDo not be afraid, Mary; you have found favour with God. <sup>31\u00a0<\/sup>You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. <sup>32\u00a0<\/sup>He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, <sup>33\u00a0<\/sup>and he will reign over Jacob\u2019s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.\u201d <sup>34\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cHow will this be,\u201d Mary asked the angel, \u201csince I am a virgin?\u201d <sup>35\u00a0<\/sup>The angel answered, \u201cThe Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called<sup>[<\/sup><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=luke%201:30-35&amp;version=NIV#fen-NIV-24929a\"><sup>a<\/sup><\/a><sup>]<\/sup> the Son of God.<\/p>\n<p>Further scriptures: <span style=\"color: #f37635;\">John 1:1; Hebrews 2:9-16; Hebrews 1:5-12; Philippians 2:5-8<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">4. THE RESURRECTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that He ascended into heaven where He is now seated at the right hand of God, in the position of power and authority. We believe in the bodily <strong>resurrection <\/strong>of the dead.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f37635;\">Daniel 12:2 (NIV)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><sup>2\u00a0<\/sup>Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f37635;\">Romans 8:34<\/span><\/p>\n<p><sup>34\u00a0<\/sup>Who then is the one who condemns? No one. THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We believe that the Lord Jesus will show Himself in glory, majesty and power and in a physical presence. This is the <strong>second<\/strong> coming of Christ and the hope of the Church.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f37635;\">Matthew 24:30 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><sup>30\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cThen will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. REDEMPTION <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Lord Jesus Christ, by His life, death, resurrection and ascension, has made available to all mankind the <strong>forgiveness<\/strong> of sins and eternal life. THE HOLY SPIRIT <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We believe that the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He is also an abiding presence in every Christian from the moment of their acceptance of Jesus Christ as saviour. We therefore believe in the <strong>continuous<\/strong> infilling of the Holy Spirit for every believer and the operation of all the gifts of the Holy Spirit according to the New Testament. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right and pleasing to God. The Church has a board of elders that are responsible for these aspects of the Church. While the eldership board gives input, lead pastors Byron and Candice Chicken are ultimately responsible for the vision, direction and oversight of the Church, and are accountable to the leadership of the Assemblies of God in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The second area relates to the day-to-day financial management and operational activities of the Church. Thrive Church has an advisory board that oversees the financial affairs of the Church, and the important day-to-day operational requirements of the Church.
